Why a Group Home instead of an Large Assisted Living Institution?
A Group home offers more personal care. The Staff to Resident ratio is often much better, which means faster response times and more personalized care. In a Large Institution there are more residents and more rooms. Staff personnel have many more residents to assist, if a staff member is assisting a person and someone else calls for assistance it can often take 10, 15 or even 25 minutes before a staff member can respond to the call. In a Group Home the response time is often immediate or only several minutes.
